Hi Chris,
What can you share about officers resigning and why so many seemed to have resigned from Company G? My g-g-grandfather escaped from a POW camp with former officer, Wilbur Pelton, in 1864. Thanks for any information you can provide.
Becca Irwin
Typically officers resign from illness or injury. There are circumstances that force resignation,
such as incompetency. Not sure if this is unusual for a company, will see what I can find!
Chris
Thank you for compiling so much fascinating information. My 3rd great grandfather
was Henry Dodge Crow. I truly appreciate your thorough information and will certainly order the book.
Thank you for the kind words and I am happy you found the site. I have a book on the regiment as well that might interest you, if so click on the “Book” category on the right hand side. It’s published by McFarland.
I mean at the top!
