    Hi Chris,

What can you share about officers resigning and why so many seemed to have resigned from Company G? My g-g-grandfather escaped from a POW camp with former officer, Wilbur Pelton, in 1864. Thanks for any information you can provide.

  2. Chris says:

Typically officers resign from illness or injury. There are circumstances that force resignation,
such as incompetency. Not sure if this is unusual for a company, will see what I can find!

  3. Christina Callahan says:

Thank you for compiling so much fascinating information. My 3rd great grandfather
was Henry Dodge Crow. I truly appreciate your thorough information and will certainly order the book.

  4. Josh McGuire says:

Thank you so much for your website. Hugh Stewart of Company G is my great great great great grandfather. Interesting fact about him. After mustering out he moved to Alabama and married Joe Wheeler’s first cousin. He is buried in Moulton, Alabama. I know a lot about his post-civil war life from relatives. As a History minor I can’t wait to get your book and dig deeper into his service in the 11th.
